Mavis Discount Tire (“Mavis”) is one of the largest, independent, multi-brand tire dealers in the U.S.. Founded in 1972, the chain offers a menu of additional services including brakes, alignments, suspension, shocks, struts, oil changes, battery replacement and exhaust work. Mavis continues to grow with the acquisition of Cole Muffler Brake (2008), Somerset Tire (2015), Kauffman Tire, Express Oil and Tire Engineers, Brakes Plus (all 3 in 2018), Town Fair Tire (2020) and Tuffy Tire and Auto Service (2021). The Express merger, now known as Mavis Tire Express Service Corp, made the company one of the largest automotive service platforms in the U.S. They currently operate over 1390 service centers across the U.S, under the Mavis Discount Tire, Express Oil Change, Brakes Plus, and Town Fair Tire brands. In March 2021, Mavis Tire Express Services was acquired by an investor group led by BayPine, TSG Consumer Partners and West First Management, with Golden Gate Capital retaining a minority interest.
