Robert James is currently President of HMX Realty Advisors. He has sold over 1.3 billion dollars of real estate. Prior to founding HMX, Rob was a Managing Director at Kimco for 10 years, where Rob was responsible for Kimco Exchange Place, Kimco’s 1031 exchange and in-house brokerage business selling triple net properties and shopping centers. Kimco is the nation’s largest owner of neighborhood and community shopping centers, and HMX largest client. Rob formerly worked at Newmark Retail Financial Advisors which provided bankruptcy and M&A services to the retail industry. At Newmark, Rob was responsible for the valuation and disposition of below market leases and fee properties. Rob was also a bankruptcy court appointed advisor for real estate.
Prior to joining Newmark, Rob worked for seven years at Kin Properties in several roles including Director of Property management, leasing and acquisitions. At Kin, Rob managed a portfolio of 800 retail and industrial properties. Rob is a graduate of Lafayette College and the Lawrenceville School. He currently lives in Greenwich, CT.
